The first office opened in Lacey, Washington—a humble beginning that would grow into a trusted partner for federal agencies nationwide. This moment marked the start of two decades of dedication, integrity, and service.
January 2006
Just months after opening our doors, GRS won its first contract—a landmark achievement that affirmed our founding mission. We were entrusted to write the Defense Intelligence Agency's Defense Intelligence Strategy, setting the strategic direction for our nation's defense intelligence enterprise. This early win established GRS as a serious and capable partner from day one.
July 2008
GRS expanded its footprint to the National Capital Region with the opening of our Alexandria, Virginia office. This strategic move brought us closer to our federal customers and positioned the company for sustained growth. The Alexandria office became a hub of collaboration and a testament to our commitment to being where our mission matters most.
October 2010
In a major milestone for federal market access, GRS secured its first long-term GSA Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) contract, with a period of performance from October 2010 through October 2030. This achievement opened the door for federal agencies across the government to easily access GRS's services through a pre-vetted, best-in-class vehicle—cementing our place in the federal marketplace for decades to come.

To accommodate our growing team and expanding mission set, GRS relocated its headquarters from Alexandria to Fairfax, Virginia. The move reflected our continued investment in people and place—creating a larger, more capable home for the talent that drives our success. Fairfax remains the heart of GRS operations and our connection to the federal community.

GRS strengthened its capabilities through the strategic acquisition of Trinity Technologies Group, bringing their proven Cyber and COMSEC expertise into the GRS family. This acquisition was a celebration of growth through partnership—expanding our technical depth and our ability to serve customers with mission-critical communications and cybersecurity solutions.
September 2013
GRS was honored to receive its first award as a Mentor in the Department of Defense Mentor-Protégé Program—a program designed to help small businesses grow through guidance from experienced prime contractors. This milestone underscored our commitment to lifting others as we climb: sharing expertise, opening doors, and building a more resilient defense industrial base together.
July 2014
GRS team members came together to support the Haymarket Regional Food Pantry Drive, giving back to the communities where we live and work. This initiative marked the beginning of a lasting tradition of community engagement—celebrating not only our business success but our responsibility to neighbors in need. Service beyond the contract has always been part of the GRS story.

GRS achieved ISO certification, demonstrating our commitment to international quality management standards and continuous improvement. This certification was a point of pride—validating that our processes, our people, and our culture are built for excellence. It signaled to customers and partners that GRS operates at the highest level of quality and accountability.

GRS won a major nationwide contract with the Social Security Administration, extending our reach and impact across the country. This award celebrated our ability to deliver at scale—supporting one of the nation's most critical civilian agencies and the millions of Americans who depend on its services. It was a milestone in our journey from regional player to national partner.

GRS was honored to receive the prestigious Nunn-Perry Award for FY2015 for our outstanding work in the DoD Mentor-Protégé Program with X Corp Solutions, Inc. Named for Senator Sam Nunn and Secretary of Defense William Perry, the award recognizes excellence in mentor-protégé relationships. It was a proud moment for our team and a testament to our commitment to developing the next generation of defense contractors.

GRS was again recognized with the Nunn-Perry Award for FY2015, this time for our Mentor-Protégé partnership with FWG Solutions. Earning the award twice in one year was an extraordinary honor—celebrating the depth of our commitment to the MPP program and the success of the small businesses we mentor. It reinforced that giving back is core to who we are.
July 2016
GRS celebrated a major milestone: our 100th contract supporting the U.S. Army. Each contract represented trust placed in us by our nation's warfighters and the agencies that support them. Reaching 100 was a moment to reflect on the journey from that first DIA strategy award to a portfolio of mission-critical work—and to look forward to the next hundred and beyond.

GRS was honored to receive the Arlington National Cemetery (ANC) Visitor and Outreach Services (VOS) award—a contract that carries deep meaning for our team. Supporting the stewardship of Arlington National Cemetery means supporting the families of those who served and the memory of those who gave their all. This award was a reminder that our work often touches the most sacred spaces of national remembrance.

GRS launched its Education & Training Division with a new presence in Austin, Texas—expanding our mission to include developing the next generation of professionals through education and training. This new division celebrated our belief that investing in people is investing in the future. Austin became a second home for innovation and learning within the GRS family.

GRS received the Nunn-Perry Award for FY2019 for our Mentor-Protégé partnership with Advanced Decision Vectors, LLC. The recognition highlighted another successful collaboration in which GRS shared experience and resources to help a protégé grow. Each Nunn-Perry Award reinforces our pride in the MPP program and our role in strengthening the defense industrial base.

GRS began our annual tradition of participating in Wreaths Across America—laying wreaths at veterans' cemeteries to remember, honor, and teach. This tradition has become a cherished part of our culture, bringing team members and families together each December to pay tribute to those who served. It is one of the ways we celebrate the values that guide our company and our country.

At GRS, our mission support doesn’t pause for the holidays—and neither do the dedicated professionals serving overseas. Many of our OCONUS employees remain deployed during the holiday season, separated from family and the traditions that make that time of year meaningful. In 2023, we began our tradition of sending care packages mid-year to celebrate Christmas in July, a reminder to our employees that they are valued, remembered, and supported not matter the distance.

GRS was again named a Nunn-Perry Award winner for FY2023, this time for our Mentor-Protégé work with Trust Consulting Services, Inc. The award celebrated yet another successful partnership and our sustained commitment to the program over more than a decade. It was a fitting capstone to a year of growth and a reminder that mentorship and excellence remain at the heart of GRS.

GRS was awarded a position on the OASIS+ 100% Small Business Set-Aside contract—a best-in-class IDIQ vehicle that positions us for the next chapter of federal service. This win was a celebration of our past performance, our team's capabilities, and our readiness to support complex, mission-critical work across the government. OASIS+ is a platform for the next twenty years and beyond.

This milestone celebrated not only our growth as a mentor but the success of every protégé we have had the privilege to support.

GRS was named the Government Contractor of the Year: $15 to $27.5 Million in Revenue by the Small and Emerging Contractors Advisory Forum (SECAF). Winners were chosen from an elite field of innovative and growing organizations and their leaders.
